Foreigner- The Capitol Theater, NY 2/19/15

Foreigner returned to The Capitol Theater in NY nearly 1 year from there last headlining show at this nostalgic venue. There was no support for this show.

Foreigner really like to be on road and they seem to constantly be touring. They had headlining dates in the U.S. & Europe last year and then they did the amazing "Soundtrack Of Summer" tour with Styx & Don Felder last summer. Now more U.S. headlining shows and the recently announced 2015 summer tour supporting Kid Rock. Nearly all tickets for the Kid Rock tour are around $20, so this is a must see show and I cannot wait for it.

This was the third time I have seen and shot Foreigner in the last 12 months and there was a couple noticeable differences about this show. The first was they did an acoustic section during the middle of the show. It was actually nice to hear a new acoustic take on their songs. The second difference was  guitarist Mick Jones played the entire show. He usually comes out 3 or 4 songs into the show but that was not the case this night. They were shooting a DVD/Blu-Ray of this show, so that may be the reason he was on stage all night. He did not seem to miss a beat, played great and looked in great health.

The one thing you will always get with a Foreigner show is a very energetic performance from all 7 of its members. Every band should have the stage presence and fun these guys have on stage. During the final song, singer Kelly Hanson grabbed the video camera from one of the cameramen and starting shooting his fellow band members. Hopefully he got some good footage for the upcoming DVD.

I shot the first 3 from the photo pit and then we were allowed to come back for the encore. The first song of the encore included the Port Chester high school choir. They helped the band sing "I Want To Know What Love Is".
