HELLYEAH headlined the Starland Ballroom in NJ with support from Devour The Day and Like A Storm.
HELLYEAH has been riding the success from their fourth and latest release "Blood For Blood". Released back in June 2014 and after supporting Five Finger Death Punch & Volbeat on their arena tour late last year, they are now ready to headline some shows of their own.
Singer Chad Grey always gives his all on stage and it's great to hear him say how heavy metal saved his life. He sounds genuine about being able to do this and treats performing live as a form of therapy session. I only saw Pantera once back in 1992 and were blown away by that performance. I have now seen and shot these guys 3 times and it is always a loud and in your face live show. I'm glad to see original Pantera member Vinny Paul destroy the drums. Bassist Kyle Sanders also has to be one of the most entertaining live performers to watch and photograph. This tour just wrapped up if you missed it, but I am sure they will be on the road this summer.
Shooting info: Canon 70D and Canon 18-135 F3.5-5.6. We were allowed to shoot the usual first 3 songs from the pit but all the photographers mistakenly got kicked out by security after just 2 songs. Someone from Hellyeah's stage crew realized the error and quickly told security to let us back in while the third song was being played.
