Whitesnake- Trump Taj Mahal, NJ 7/25/15

Whitesnake played the Trump Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City, NJ during their recent "The Purple Tour". There were no opening bands for this show.

Whitesnake recently released "The Purple Album" in April which was a tribute of the 3 Deep Purple albums David Coverdale appeared on. On this tour they are playing these re-recorded songs along with all the Whitesnake hits. A picture of this shows set list is below.

David Coverdale vocals were on point all night. After singing for over 40 years it was great to see him in such top form. He voice really shined on the songs Burn, Forevermore and the epic show closer Still Of The Night.

Joel Hoekstra is the newest member of Whitesnake and had some big shoes to fill replacing Doug Aldrich on lead guitar. Not to worry as Joel's playing was incredible and is a great fit with Whitesnake. Joel's recently history includes Night Ranger, Rock of Ages (On Broadway) and the east coast Trans Siberian Orchestra. Joel is one of my favorite guitarist to photograph and I love his stage presence. Coverdale always has great guitarists on stage with him and it continues with Joel Hoekstra and Reb Beach. Reb has been a part of Whitesnake for 13 years. They had about equal share of the solos and they did show off there incredible dual-tapping skills during there guitar solos.

Drummer Tommy Aldridge has returned to the snake after leaving in 2007. His playing just flows and is incredibly fun to watch. He also has to be one of the hardest hitting drummers I have seen and I am glad he is back in the band behind the drum kit.

This show had a truly special moment for one of it's members. David handed off the microphone to bassist Michael Devin who then proposed to girlfriend Drea De Matteo. She recently starred in Sons Of Anarchy and played Adrianna in the Sopranos.

Camera Gear and Shooting Info: My first time shooting at the Taj Mahal casino and the venue had incredible stage lighting with Whitesnake bringing additional lights for this tour. Canon 70D & Canon 18-135 F3.5-5.6
