Outdoor summer concerts are always great, but to have one right across the street from the beach is even better. The Stone Pony brings the fun outside for a few months each summer and sets up a nice large stage that allows bigger name bands to play at this venue. Rise Against played a July/August run on U.S. dates with a couple of great live bands in Letlive and Killswitch Engage. The tour and line up was so successful that a second leg of fall U.S. dates were recently announced.
A great highlight of the show was when Lou Koller of the punk band "Sick Of It All" jumped on stage to help perform "Built To Last". Lead singer Tim McIlrath really knows how to entertain a huge crowd and his vocals were great all night. Rise Against guitarist Zach Blair was running all over the stage and doing his memorable split jumps, as seen in a few of my pictures.
