Chevelle's headlining tour came to The Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ with support from show openers Crobot and Raw Fabrics.
Chevelle is touring in support of there great new album "La Gargola". (Spanish for "The Gargoyle"). They played 3 songs from this latest release. It's really amazing how tight and big there sound is live considering they are a three piece band. The lead guitar of Pete Loeffler is thick and heavy and this was apparent right from the first song "An Island". Chevelle has another run of U.S. dates coming up in May if you missed them last time.
The last time I saw Chevelle was the summer of 2012 on the "Carnival Of Madness" tour. There set at the PNC Arts Center that night had very little stage lighting at all. That did not happen at all on this current headlining tour as they had the best lighting I've seen for a large club tour of the entire year. Also there lighting guy did an amazing job as every song in the set list was lit completely different.
