In This Moment brought their Half God, Half Devil tour to Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJ. Support for this leg of the U.S. tour is Motionless In White, VIMIC and Little Miss Nasty.
In This Moment's live show is full of great production that include costume changes, beautiful lighting, dancers (blood girls), smoke cannons and fog. It really does add to the songs live and no band out there is doing this level of production at a rock show. Each song has its own theme and even though the stage slightly resembles the tour from a couple years ago there was a lot of new staging, surprises and songs. Maria Brink is one of the best live performers out there right now and she puts a lot into each show. This was also the first time I have seen In This Moment with new drummer Kent Diimmel since Tom Hane left the band last year. Kent fits right in with these guys and even got a short drum solo during the show.
We did get a bunch of new songs including River Of Fire, Lay Down Your Guns, Black Wedding, In The Air Tonight and the new single "Oh Lord". I love when bands bring out members of the other bands on the tour to perform with them. Maria Brink brought out lead singer Chris from "Motionless In White" to perform Black Wedding. It was one of the shows many highlights and the crowd really loved it. In This Moments new album "Ritual" is due out this month on 7/22. I expect these guys to do a lot more U.S. tour dates since that are at the very beginning of this albums cycle.
