Sevendust- Starland Ballroom, NJ 6/22/17

Sevendust did a short run of tour dates on the east coast to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album.

For a band to play an entire album live, it has to either be a very special occasion or tour, plus be a really good album. Back in March, Sevendust did a special one-off 20th anniversary show in their hometown of Atlanta. It went over really well with the band that we luckily got 5 more shows in June for the east coast fans to enjoy.

The last time I saw Sevendust was almost 2 years ago at the first Rock Carnival in NJ. Their performance was very memorable for me since I remember them being one of the best bands of the 2 day festival. There was so much energy coming from the stage and their live sound is so powerful. I felt sorry for the band that had to follow them on stage and there were a lot of big name acts that played the Rock Carnival.

The Starland Ballroom in NJ got another electric performance from the guys and it all started with the huge metal hit "Black". Singer Lajon Witherspoon got the fans fired up with his powerful vocals and energy. The rest of the band was all over the stage and interacted with the crowd. You can tell the fans were enjoying the show as the crowd surfers started landing in the photo pit every few seconds. Witherspoon is very grateful when speaking to the crowd and thanked them numerous times for their support and coming out to the shows. I really love Morgan Rose's drumming but what is great, is his kit is set up so you can actually see him play.

It was a great night and was really special to get to see one of these shows. Hopefully we get some additional 20th anniversary dates this year or even a full U.S. tour.
