Metal Allegiance- Gramercy Theatre, NY April 2015

Metal Allegiance did a short tour run of the Northeastern U.S. and played The Gramercy Theatre in NYC.

The Supergroup Metal Allegiance is a who's who of big name hard rock & metal artists. For this NYC show, we got Mike Portnoy (Drums), Alex Skolnick (Guitar), Bumblefoot (Guitar), Chuck Billy (Vocals), Chris Jericho (Vocals), Mark Benghi (Bass) and Mark Osegueda (Vocals). Founding member Dave Ellefson was MIA since he is currently on tour with Megadeth.

The set list (see below) from the NYC show consisted of covers of: Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Van Halen, AC/DC, Motorhead, Sepultura, Accept and Metallica. They also performed 3 songs from their self titled 2015 CD. A mosh pit broke out a few times during the night and the band mentioned that was the first time on this short run of dates.

These guys give back to the fans and they did big time by performing "Whole Lotta Rosie" up close for a fan in a wheelchair. It was very cool to see Bumblefoot jumped down off the stage to perform right in front of this fan while the rest of the band was behind him on stage. It was a great moment to watch unfold.

Max Portnoy's (Mikes son) band "Next To None" opened these shows and Max got to join his dad on stage. They played drums together during the encore of Seek & Destroy. Max is an excellent drummer in is own right.

Honestly these guys are having too much fun on stage and the band is a celebration of all the great metal songs they grew up on. The guys don't do many shows and the line up varies but if you get a chance to see one of there show, you should.
