Gigantour- SBC, Camden NJ 8/9/13

On August 9th, "Gigantour" played the final US show of the tour at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ.

This year Giantour had a mix of old and new metal bands which included: Megadeth, Black Label Society, Device, Hellyeah & Newsted. Show opener Death Division dropped off the tour 8 days prior to this show.

Megadeth: I have seen these guys 4 times over the last 5 years but this was the only show as a headliner. There performance was great from start to finish, as Dave and the band sounded amazing. The crowd really was vocal for there set, even though there was only about 3000 people in attendance. Zack Wylde joined them on stage for a song as well as David Drainman. They are supporting there new album, Super Collider. See there set list below.

Black Label Society: I saw these guys in 2011 when they were supporting Judas Priest on the "Epitaph" tour. That show in 2011 had a terrible sound mix and was way to loud. This show was great and Zack showed off his shredding skills.

Device: This is Distubed singer David Draiman's new band. The strange thing about there performance was they did not have a bass player. John DeServio of BLS did perform one song on bass with Device. This was the only band of the day that the crowd was not that into but David seemed to win them over as the set went on.

Hellyeah: My first time seeing these guys and they are a fun southern rock band that the crowd seemed to love from the minute they came out. Vocalist Chad Gray is a lot of fun to watch and drummer Vinnie Paul is a crowd favorite.

Newsted: Jason Newsted (ex Metallica) has a brand new band and I have heard nothing but good things about them. The have almost an old school Motorhead sound and I am glad Jason is performing again. Staind guitarist, Mike Mushok joined them for this tour.

Shooting info: Shot the first 3 songs of each band and took a few point & shoot shots from my seat. I did not shoot Newstead from the pit, because I arrived late because of traffic. Megadeth's stage lighting overall was incredible. Camera gear- Canon T2i, Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 & Panasonic LX7.
