Breaking Benjamin with co-headliners Disturbed played the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel ,NJ. Support on this great tour was Alter Bridge and Saint Asonia.
Outdoors in the summer are one of my favorite ways to see a concert. This tour has an incredible line up of bands with Disturbed closing each night but sharing the same time on stage as Breaking Benjamin. Ticket prices were actually reasonable at $70 for the best seats unless you did an upgraded VIP package.
These guys really got the crowd going during their set and this was actually one of the loudest crowds I have heard at PNC in a long time. It seemed that there was actually more Breaking Benjamin fans in the crowd than Disturbed, but it was very close. There was only a handful tickets left on the day of the show but I am not sure if this was a complete sell out.
Breaking Benjamin is touring behind there very successful album "Dark Before Dawn" they released in 2015. It was their first new album in six years. They only played 3 songs from the new album but only had an hour on stage. Singer Benjamin Burnley actually lets his band mates share the spot light as they sung lead vocals on a couple of the songs. Guitarist Keith Wallen sang "Sooner Or Later" and bassist Adam Bruch sang "Believe".
One of the cool things about this tour are other bands members are joining the bands on stage on some of the songs. Breaking Benjamin brought out Adam from Saint Asonia on "I Will Not Bow". Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge also joined Saint Asonia for the song "Better Place". They are also mixing up who comes on stage for different songs each night if you follow their respective Facebook pages. I love when this happens and not sure why this doesn't become the norm on all tours. It's what makes the live show so different than listening to a cd. This was actually my first time seeing Breaking Benjamin and they did not disappoint live.
