Mayhem Festival- PNC Arts Center , NJ 7/23/13 (Part 1)

The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival is in it's 6th year and played at the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. Here is part one with the first 8 bands of the day.

The 2013 line up included:
Main Stage- Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Mastodon & Amon Amarth.
Musicians Institute Stage- Children of Bodom, Emmure, Born Of Osiris, Motionless In White, Attika 7 & Thrown Into Exile.
Jagermeister Stage- Machine Head, Job For A Cowboy, Butcher Babies, Battlecross & Huntress.
Sumerian Stage- Scorpion Child & City In The Sea (Did not see or shoot these 2 bands).

By far, Mayhem is the largest & heaviest touring festival of the summer with 10 hours of music and 20 bands. The only ballad of the entire day was from 5FDP. The second and third stage bands only have about 20-30 minutes to perform, so the energy is non stop. Of the 8 bands in this post, I was looking forward to seeing the Butcher Babies and Motionless in White. The crowd seemed to like both bands as well.

Plenty of sunlight during the day for fast shutter speeds and low ISO. Zombie's set had a lot of greens and reds, so he was actually the toughest to shoot.
