Rock Out With My Shot Out: Poison - Bethel Woods, NY 6/22/18

Poison brought their "Nothin' But A Good Time" tour to the exquisite Bethel Woods outdoor venue in Bethel, NY. Cheap Trick and Pop Evil are support for the entire tour.

I have seen Poison many times over the years but this might have been one of my favorite shows. All 4 members of the band were all smiles the entire night and gave the crowd a great performance. Singer Brett Michaels is always full of energy on stage but the rest of the band were as well. There was plenty of interaction with each other and tons of interaction with the fans. Brett singing was spot on throughout the show even though he was working the whole stage and constantly high-fiving the fans up front.

The was also the best stage show I have seen Poison ever have. A huge high-def screen was behind them showing videos and a live feed of the concert. Also hundreds of lights beautifully lit up the stage. They also had a runway extend from the stage into the first few rows so the band could get closer to the crowd. Smoke cannons through the front of the stage rounded out the visuals.

There are very few 80's bands that have their full original line up these days and I think this is a very big deal to the fans. They want to hear the classic songs they grew up with and see the original members perform them.

Rikki, CC & Bobby all got instrumental solo moments that are there to give the other 3 members of the band a break during the 90 minute set. I would have liked to see another song or two in the set list but it makes sense to give the guys a breather and keep the energy up the entire show.
Poison closed the amazing show with the cover of "Rock And Roll All Nite" by KISS. They were joined on stage by Leigh and Matt from Pop Evil.

Poison has put a great package tour together with Cheap Trick & Pop Evil that cover a few decades of different types of rock & roll.
